Updated the May 2008 Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project photo article by
adding 22 photos. These photos were taken on May 25, 2008. This is a drive eastbound
(Beltway Outer Loop) from the Eisenhower Avenue Connector interchange to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge,
and shows the newly opened permanent 3-lane roadway which will be the Beltway Outer Loop local roadway when the WWB
Project is complete, from just east of the VA-241 Telegraph Road interchange
to a couple hundred feet west of the Washington Street Urban Deck at the
US-1 interchange. These added photos are the last group of photos on the
webpage.

the twin-span Potomac River Bridges, views of the traffic barrier that swings
across the roadway to stop traffic before lifting the drawspan, views of U.S.
President (1913-1921) Woodrow Wilson's 1919 Pierce-Arrow limousine, views of
the bridge's pedestrian and bicycle path, views of the transparent sound
barrier on the bridge's Virginia approach, views of the dedication ceremony,
and views of the raised drawspan being lowered to the closed position.

Updates to article "Capital Beltway History"
- new section added, Exit Numbering on Capital Beltway, modified section,
Final Design of Capital Beltway. See article index with
internal links. The "Exit Numbering on Capital Beltway" section has an
in-depth discussion of the exit numbering system -- the original sequential
system, the renunbering of the system, and the milepost-based current system.
There is a table of all Beltway interchanges, with the current exit number,
the connecting road, and the original exit number. The "Final Design of
Capital Beltway" section has one change, I added a map of the Capital Beltway
segment through Rock Creek Regional Park of Maryland. The large version of the
map is 1.6 megabytes in size, and it very clearly shows how the Beltway passes
through the park, west and east of the MD-185 Connecticut Avenue interchange.

Beltway, and Pavement Types on Capital Beltway. See article index with
internal links. The environmental issues section has an in-depth discussion of
the construction of the Beltway segment along the stream valley of Cameron Run
near the southern border of the City of Alexandria in the area where the
Beltway has interchanges with US-1 and VA-241. The pavement types section
discusses which segments of the Beltway were constructed with asphalt
concrete, and which were constructed with reinforced Portland cement concrete.
